Refuting Quburi Nit-Picking Regarding Tabligh.

Al Salamu 'Alaykum.
The Ahl al Bida' have many objections to the work of Da'wah in general and the the Tablighi Jamah in particular. This is an old post which I put up on Sunniforum in response to the wild insinuations of a Barelwi on a mushrik forum which is also called "Sunni" forum:

"Here is a point by point answer to a Barelwi on another forum whose statements are in Red. The responses of the Ahl al Haqq are in blue. Great thanks is owed to those brothers who have given these answers in earlier threads related to the TJ. May Allah bless you. I have copy-pasted and joined your posts in composing this answer to the Ahl al Bida'. Wasalam.

Now a few in Deoband School of thought

deoband Bidah number 1
,
► Going out for 3 day Chilla
,
deoband Bidah number 2
,
► Going out for 4 months
,
deoband Bidah number 3
,
► Going out for 40 days

I will answer the first three of your foolish statements together. By the way you should have labeled them as tablighi bida’hs but its ok. Your post is nonsense anyways. The 3 day Jama’h is actually known as Se-roza, not chilla.
Firstly, an answer in general terms:
“There are some commandments in Shari’ah in which the method is not stipulated. For example, it is a commandment of Shariah to acquire knowledge, but the manner in which the Madrasas are established today, is not proven through Quran and Hadith. Up until the recent past, the scholars used to teach in the masjids of their respective towns and villages. The students had to go to different scholars to learn the different sciences. No arrangements of food or boarding were made. However, the zeal for knowledge had decreased as time went by, and the scholars felt it necessary to establish the system of Darul Ulooms as is established today. Nobody regards such a system to be bid’ah.
The number of days is also not compulsory, it is only recommended just as it is recommended that a person studying first aid, for example, serves one month as practicals. While he will not be an expert in medicine, he will know the basic things to do during an emergency. Similarly, a person going out for 3 days, 40 days, 4 months, etc. does not become an expert on Shariáh, but he will learn the basic requirements of Shariáh. The more time he gives, the more he will learn and perfect himself. The time frame is not a criteria according to Shariáh. It is not regarded as compulsory in the Shari’ah. The time is merely recommended like the time frame for any course in college and university. There is no prohibition in Shari’ah to set time frames for learning and training. Similarly, Shariah has commanded us to do the work of tableegh. This work used to be done on an individual basis. The learned people used to preach the others and prevent them from all vices. As time went on, vice started prevailing, and people had stopped doing the work on an individual basis; therefore, a collective effort had to take place, and rules had to be set up for the work to carry on in order. Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: With regard to limiting da’wah to three or four days, or to two or four or six months, or two years, there is no shar’i evidence for that. But they think that this has to do with organization. If a person goes out for three days, and knows that he is limited to these three days, he will focus his mind and forget about worldly matters. This is the matter of organization, and is not an act of worship or a matter of shari’ah.”

Specific answers based in the understanding of Buzurgan-e-deen: Firstly
• ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا النُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْمُضْغَةَ عِظَاماً فَكَسَوْنَا الْعِظَامَ لَحْماً ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَاهُ خَلْقاً آخَرَ فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ }

40 days approx

80 days approx

120 days approx ( Fetus )

almost 4 months, the heartbeat can be felt in the fetus

According to Ustad Dr. Manzoor Ahmed Mengal sahib, this is defined by ‘Ulama because a person goes through a complete change in his life in 4 months. If you dedicate your life for Allah for 4 months, it incorporates itself into your routine.

Secondly:

So for four months, you have the incident of 'Umar as described above by sahih chains and this is recognised by jurists of all classes.

“Sura 6 - Al-Anaam (MAKKA) : Verse 160:
Whoso bringeth a good deed will receive tenfold the like thereof, while whoso bringeth an ill-deed will be awarded but the like thereof; and they will not be wronged. Tr by Pickthall.
Got the idea? 3x10=30. Go for three days, get rewarded for the whole month. Go every month for 3 days and get rewarded for the whole year. Subhanallah.

You did not mention one year. ‘Ulama go in Jama’h for one year. Please see Hayat al Sahaba for the incident of Mus’ab ibn ‘Umayr(ra) and how he was sent by Rasulullah(saws) to the Ansar for the Deen and he would meet with the Prophet(saws) once a year.

► Specifying the last weekend of month for 3 days chilla

The last weekend of the month is not specified anywhere except in your fevered imagination. In most mosques, a jama’h leaves every week and sometimes on weekends. So this objection is also baseless.

► Weekly Ghast

deoband Bidah number 7

► Taking three people in the weekly Ghast

5, 6 & 7 will be answered together.
Specifying a day for weekly gasht(ijtimaayi) is an administrative matter. If the day is not specified then how will people collect for the gasht? It does not need daleel. By the way infiradi gasht can be done at any time or day of the week. Taking three people in the gasht is not at all necessary, you can take 3, 4, 5, 6 or whatever and you can do it alone also. So don’t just fill the post with words.

► Deginating an Ameer for the Siraoza or chila

9 & 10 together again. By the way where did 8 go?
The Messenger of Allah(saws) said: When three people leave for a journey then they should appoint an Ameer amongst themselves.
(Abu Dawood, Kitab ul Jihad. The Sanad is Sahih. Declared Hasan by Albani. At-Taleeqat-'alal-Mishkaat 2/1145)

► Doing Irada(Niyah) in advance before going to Chilla, siroza etc

Sigh. Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab:
I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "The reward of deeds depends upon intentions(niyyaat) and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for." Sahih al bukhari, vol 1, book 1, hadith 1.
Kabhi suna ya padha hai ye hadith?

► Designating one day of a week for weekly Biyan , Called Shab e Jumma, or some times on Thursdays and saturdays.

Shab-e-jumu’a=night of jumu’a.
If a day in the week is not designated for bayan then how will people know when the bayan is going to be held? According to your post it is sometimes Friday, Thursday and Saturday. That means that there is no fixed single day for the entire jama’h. That itself frees the 'amal from the stigma of bida’. Stop being excessively foolish.

deoband Bidah number 13
,
► Salana Ijtima once a year at Raiwind is a bidah
It will become Bida’ if people believe that it is necessary to hold it every year on a particular date and a particular time or that it is a part of Din and leaving it is a cause for sin. See all conditions because you do not know what Bida’ is.

► Specifying fajr and specific times of the day to have daily mashwarah among various members of the group.

Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha’. Anyone of these times in a mosque. Again if a specific time is not fixed then how will people know when the mashwara is?

Wa’ l ladheenas tajaabu li rabbihim wa aqaamus salaata wa ‘amru hum shura’a bayna hum…(Al Shura’ v.38) (Those who hearken to their Lord, and establish regular Prayer; who (conduct) their affairs by mutual Consultation...)

► Preaching only to muslims, I know some here in Canada, they never ever went to a non muslim but during their weekly Ghast do visit me and ask me to act on Shariah , Nothing is wrong in it I agree, But who deserves time first muslim or non muslim ?

The TJ is an islah movement that primarily works in the Muslims. You write, “Nothing is wrong in it I agree” and yet you call it bida’. This is known as a contradiction.
,

First answer above, remember not from ijhtihad of imams [rah] but only sahih and marfu hadiths,You do know defination of a bidah right ?

All the ahadith quoted above are sahih and marfu’. Also the ijtihad of all the Imams of Ahl al Sunna is based on the Qur’an, Sunna, Ijma’ and Qiyas. So you were wrong is asking for only hadith. We know the definition of Bida’ but as your post shows you don’t know what Bida’ is, how it is to be defined & how it is to be fought. Hence this post, which you presented out of Hizbiyya(for Barelwiyya) rather than a desire for sincere advice (nasiha). May Allah guide you."

`Alaykum Salam.
